Darash Ahava Foundation

Who We Are

More than a foundation — a global movement dedicated to breaking down the barriers to emotional healing and helping humanity rise into its fullest potential.

Transforming lives through emotional healing, nervous system balance, and authentic community connection.

Who We Are & Our Story

A journey from personal healing to global transformation

We exist because the world is facing a crisis not of resources, but of emotional capacity. Trauma, disconnection, and nervous system dysregulation are draining humanity's ability to love, to connect, and to collaborate. Our work is rooted in a three-step process of healing: emotional, nervous system, and community, delivered through transformative programs, sanctuaries, and global outreach.

Darash Ahava was born out of lived experience. Our founder, David Widerhorn, built a life of outward success as a CEO, entrepreneur, and innovator. Yet beneath the surface, he faced the same struggles so many carry silently: trauma, disconnection, and nervous system dysregulation.

Through years of personal healing — professional support, somatic work, spiritual practice, and deep exploration — David discovered that the most profound transformation comes from cultivating emotional capacity. It was in those breakthroughs that the vision for Darash Ahava took root: a foundation dedicated to making healing accessible for all, not just the few who can afford it or know where to look.

The name Darash Ahava, meaning "to seek love", reflects this calling. It is both personal and universal: an invitation for every human being to come home to love, connection, and wholeness.

What We Do

Darash Ahava transforms lives through a three-step model of healing:

Emotional Healing

Programs like Brushstrokes of Emotion help people access their inner world, explore vulnerability, and build the emotional capacity for intimacy and self-understanding.

Nervous System Healing

Through practices such as yoga, breathwork, sound, and animal-assisted experiences, participants rediscover safety in their bodies and return to a state of calm and balance.

Community Connection

Retreats, gatherings, and shared spaces provide opportunities for authentic connection, helping people integrate healing into relationships and community life.

Our Current Initiative

The Scottsdale Flagship Healing Center

Our most urgent project is building the Scottsdale flagship healing center — a landmark facility that will serve as both our global headquarters and a sanctuary where all three stages of healing come together under one roof.

This center will embody our mission locally and globally: a place where anyone can walk in with pain, disconnection, and exhaustion, and walk out with hope, connection, and peace.

A Global Perspective

Although rooted in Scottsdale, our mission extends worldwide.

India & Nepal

We have already reached more than 1,500 children this year, offering healing programs and support to some of the most vulnerable.

Global Unity

Across the globe, Brushstrokes of Emotion unites people through art, story, and shared human experience.

Inclusive Support

We serve not only children but also the elderly and those in need, bringing dignity and compassion to communities where resources are scarce.

Our work is global because humanity's challenges are global. Healing belongs to everyone.

Our Core Values

The principles that guide our mission

Compassion

We approach every person with empathy and respect, creating safe spaces where vulnerability is honored and healing is possible.

Connection

We believe connection is the antidote to the world's problems—when people feel seen and understood, division gives way to empathy and love.

Wholeness

We nurture healing of the whole person—mind, body, and community—so individuals can live with balance, authenticity, and purpose.

Impact

We are committed to Tikkun Olam, the Jewish value of repairing the world one soul at a time, creating ripples of healing from the individual outward.

Our Vision for Humanity

Unlocking human potential — individually and collectively

Darash Ahava was founded on the belief that healing unlocks human potential — not only individually, but collectively.

Individually

Healing allows us to find meaning, purpose, and connection to our lives.

Collectively

It gives us the capacity to tackle humanity's greatest challenges — from climate change and poverty, to mental health crises, polarization, and caring for vulnerable children and the elderly.

These problems cannot be solved through fear or division; they require empathy, trust, and collaboration. By expanding emotional capacity, we give humanity the tools to rise together.

Looking Ahead

Building the future of global healing

Darash Ahava is only at the beginning of its journey. With the Scottsdale flagship healing center and our expanding global programs, we are building the infrastructure for a movement that can transform lives and societies around the world.

Our founder's story is just one example of what is possible when healing becomes a way of life. Now, our mission is to bring that possibility to every person, everywhere.
