In June, the Darash Ahava Foundation passed a milestone it once only imagined: more than 5,000 participants reached by its Brushstrokes of Emotion® healing programs. A growing share of that number are street-connected children living in and around India's railway stations, reached through the Foundation's NGO partnership with the RagDream Weavers Association.
In June 2026, the Darash Ahava Foundation passed a milestone it once only imagined: its Brushstrokes of Emotion® healing programs have now reached more than 5,000 participants worldwide, across some of the most underserved communities on earth.
The figure is pulled directly from the Foundation's LetsConnect.Art platform, where every session is documented and every artwork a participant creates is uploaded in real time. Because each participant creates one artwork in each class, that living record of artworks is also the truest count of individual lives touched, a verifiable measure rather than an estimate.
A significant share of that growth has come through the Foundation's NGO partnership with the RagDream Weavers Association in India, which brings free Brushstrokes of Emotion® sessions to street-connected children living in and around the country's railway stations. These are children without stable housing, many carrying trauma from their earliest years, in places most programs never reach. To meet them, the facilitators on the ground sometimes travel as long as ten hours by train, because reaching a child exactly where they are is the entire point.
Those children are part of a wider range of people the programs now serve: elderly men and women navigating dementia in Chennai care facilities, girls in Bengaluru shelter homes who have lived through violence and neglect, and abandoned children in government-run schools in Kathmandu, Nepal, and families facing poverty, trauma, and instability in communities where the very idea of emotional wellness has barely been introduced.
They all share a single experience: a Brushstrokes of Emotion® session, free to attend, led by a trained local facilitator, and built around the same four-part structure of intention, creation, discovery, and connection.
The milestone also reflects the strength of the Foundation's partnership model. Rather than delivering programs from the outside, Darash Ahava trains and funds local facilitators embedded in the communities they serve, people who already hold their neighbors' trust, now equipped with something powerful to offer.
Every participant behind this number is a person who was given a safe space to heal. To help us reach the next 5,000, please consider making a gift.
